CWA Madang 2009 Calendar Available

CWA Madang 2009 Calendar

The Country Women’s Association (CWA) of PNG is one of those enduring organisations that has played an integral role in the support and development of the people of PNG. It’s also one of those organisations that has long been neglected by the PNG Government in terms of recognition and support.

CWA – Madang branch, was established in 1952 and is still operating today. CWA provides women in Madang a meeting place to find friends, learn new skills and find ways to raise money to help women and children in the community. All CWA projects help women and children (families) in the Madang province. Apart from their seven staff who manage the organisation’s guest house, all members are volunteers who freely give their time to raise funds and run a broad range of programs and intiatives including: the Children’s and Maternity Wards at Modilon Hospital; Kindergarten Long Ples (village kindergartens); Early Childhood Health Program (in outlying villages); Village Health Volunteers; Village Birthing Houses; Violence Against Women (education programs), and adult literacy classes.

You can support the CWA Madang by purchasing the CWA 2009 Calendar. It is A4 size, professionally produced, with 12 colourful scenes taken in and around Madang. All sale proceeds will be go to assisting the CWA Madang with their programs.

To obtain a copy please send a cheque or money order for AU$18 (postage included) made out to M Clifton-Bassett to: M Clifton-Bassett, PO Box 4505, Castlecrag, NSW 2068.
