Wait Dok na Blak Dok

On the topic of Tok Pisin literature, I don’t think I’ve ever read a more powerful Tok Pisin poem than this one. What makes it so powerful is the context it was written in:

Blak dok i tok: ‘Nau brata givim mi.
Tumora, wanem tumora? Mi no laik tumora.
Yu givim mi bek – nau yu go!’
Tasol wait dok i tok: ‘Wet liklik bai mi go’.
